Here’s a summary of where we currently stand:
Our CHSAA Commissioner is waiting on a decision from the Governor’s office. The CHSAA staff has put together comprehensive plans for his office to consider and are awaiting that decision. If the Governor approves resumption of sports and activities, there will be a CHSAA season. It will then be up to individual districts as to whether they allow their schools to participate, especially given 100% online learning.
Fall Sports Registration -
Jeffco has asked all schools to temporarily close registration. There are some covid-19 related documents that they have decided to add. Once we receive more guidance from Jeffco, we’ll send out another email. If you have already registered, there is nothing you need to do at this point. We will wait and see how Jeffco would like to handle it.
Virtual Fall Sports Info Night -
We will soon send out the specifics for our fall sports informational meeting. You will be able to view this presentation at your convenience. Fall coaches will communicate with athletes and families in regards to getting team specific info sent out.
Sports Physicals -
Athletic physicals are still required for all athletes. Currently, fall sports are scheduled to officially begin on August 10th (August 3rd for Boys’ Golf). All fall athletes need to have a physical by this date or they will not be permitted to tryout and/or practice. Physicals are good for 365 days.
